No awkward posing. Just real moments, beautifully captured.

A relaxed way to make photographs somewhere meaningful.

As San Francisco and Bay Area engagement photographers, we build sessions around a place, activity, or part of life that already means something to you.

An engagement session is not rehearsal for the wedding. It is a record of a different part of life: a drink in your neighborhood, a drive up Mount Tam, the coast, your home, or an afternoon with somewhere to go and no need to perform.

01

Start with something you would actually do.

A bar, bookstore, old car, ferry, dog walk, favorite street, or familiar part of the coast gives the session a reason to move. The location should contribute more than scenery.

02

Direction should get you moving, not freeze you.

We help with light, pace, and what to do at the beginning. Once the interaction becomes real, we stop adding instructions and photograph what develops.

03

Proposals need a practical plan.

For proposals, meeting points, sight lines, crowds, weather, parking, and a believable reason to be there all matter. After the question, the photography can become much looser.

Engagements & proposals photographed with attention to real moments

An afternoon together, with clear direction when it helps.

A session with a reason to move

Choose the life around the photographs, then choose the light.

Home, a dog walk, a picnic, the ocean, a neighborhood, or a drive gives the session a small story instead of a stack of poses.

We help narrow the place, weather, clothing, and timing. Once the session begins, direction should remove uncertainty and then get out of the way. Proposals receive a more exact plan for sight lines, timing, crowds, and the moment after the question.

Choose by experience

Four useful ways to begin.

01

At home or in your neighborhood

The most personal option, with weather protection, pets, routines, and places that will still mean something years later.

02

Coast, redwoods, or Mount Tam

More movement and landscape, with wind, temperature, access, fog, and walking treated as part of the plan.

03

A city afternoon

A bar, restaurant, ferry, bookstore, street, or architecture can create a connected route without turning San Francisco into a landmark checklist.

04

A planned proposal

We build one clear meeting point, signal, camera position, weather alternative, and simple plan for the portraits after the answer.

Questions

The practical part.

How do we choose a location?

Start with places that are already part of your life, then consider travel, light, weather, walking, privacy, and whether there is something natural to do there.

What if we are uncomfortable in photographs?

That is normal. You already know how to make each other feel comfortable. We remove uncertainty, use movement and simple prompts to keep the moment going, then let your attention return to each other instead of asking you to sustain a pose for the camera.

Can the session include film?

Yes. Film works especially well when the pace and light support it, while digital protects fast movement and changing conditions.
