The story
Tucked along the San Mateo Coast just off Highway 1, it’s not the easiest place to get to. You park above the cliffs, then make your way down a long stretch of stairs before the beach finally opens up below. By the time you reach the sand, everything feels a little more removed from the rest of the world.

In their own place
What made this one specific.
That distance gives you space. And for a proposal on the Northern California coast, that kind of quiet, uninterrupted moment matters.
Not in a bad way, just different. Slower. More intentional. You can feel the timing of it, even if you don’t know exactly when it’s coming.
Everything that built up to it, the planning, the timing, the walk down, collapses into one moment. After that, everything opens back up again.
If you’re planning a proposal at Gray Whale Cove or anywhere along the San Mateo Coast, we’d love to document it in a way that stays true to how it actually felt.
