The story
The day began at the Fairmont and University Club, moved through the quiet Library Room, and then let a personal tiki world take over the party.
The University Club of San Francisco
Nob Hill kept the day close.
Getting ready at the Fairmont and University Club reduced travel once the day started moving. The compact geography made the schedule feel calmer without sacrificing a sense of place.

The historic club gave the day structure; the couple’s details gave it a pulse.

Nob Hill, San Francisco
A quiet room before the party.
The Library Room held the first look and gave the couple a moment to settle. That contrast made the louder, more colorful parts of the wedding feel even more alive.

The day in full
A love story needs more than its headline moments.
They met for a first look in the Library Room, a quieter space that gave everything a moment to settle before the rest of the day picked up.
A lot of the energy came from the details Sonia and Dan brought into the day.
Tropical florals by Ampersand shifted the feel of the space right away. Fez hats with cats on them moved through the room as people traded them back and forth. Custom tiki cups were everywhere, and fortune cookies filled with quotes from Sonia’s mom showed up throughout the night.
None of it felt separate. People picked things up, carried them, and made them part of how the night unfolded.
The University Club of San Francisco already has a strong identity, dark wood, patterned walls, an ornate fireplace, and views out over the city.
With two floors to move between, the space gave the night room to build. The bar stayed active, the dance floor filled in, and everything settled into a rhythm that kept going.
Why this story matters
Personal design works when people use it.
The tiki details were not a decorative layer added for photographs. They shaped how the rooms felt and how the guests participated, which is why they belong in the narrative.
