The story
The couple married at a childhood home, layering dinner, clothing, food, wine, and family history into a place that already meant something.
Private family home
A ceremony and dinner in the same place.
Guests sat in front of the house for the ceremony and stayed for dinner. Removing a room flip and a major transition kept attention on the people rather than the production.

The house was not styled to look personal. It was personal before the wedding began.

Oakland, California
Details with actual history.
The katsu-style pig roast, carefully chosen wines, and changes of clothing pointed back to shared memories. Their meaning came through in use, not as isolated detail photographs.

The day in full
A love story needs more than its headline moments.
The ceremony happened in front of the house, with guests seated for dinner. When it ended, people stayed where they were and dinner was already there.
The day pulled from a lot of different places in their lives. A Japanese katsu-style pig roast, wines chosen with intention, small details that pointed back to specific memories and experiences they share.
Daisy started the day in a dress, then later changed into a jumpsuit. The shift matched the way the day moved, from something more contained into something looser.
They parked their vintage car in front of the house later in the day, the same one from their Mount Tam engagement session , and used it for portraits as the light shifted.
Cigars made their way through the evening, passed around between conversations as people settled in.
The setting didn’t need much added to it. Citrus, olive, eucalyptus, things that already belong to Northern California, used in a way that felt natural to the space rather than layered on top of it.
Why this story matters
Private homes reward practical planning.
Power, catering access, bathrooms, sound, neighbors, parking, and weather plans matter. Solving those quietly protects the looseness that makes an at-home wedding worth having.
