The story
Exactly 4 years after the couple met, they eloped with a small group of friends and family at City Hall, in downtown San Francisco. They had investigated some other locations but, as they put it, they "turned out to be too much of a hassle" and instead they opted for something down to earth and local. Their wedding was incredibly beautiful and emotional, and it really shows in the photos. We always remind our clients to not worry too much about the details because h aving amazing wedding photos is simple: have fun, feel the love, and laught (or cry) a lot.

The complete sequence
A real story needs the parts between the portraits.
This city hall elopement in San Francisco City Hall is shown as a sequence: the people arriving, the setting taking shape, the ceremony, the reactions around it, and the way the celebration changed afterward. The photographs stay together so the day reads as more than a short highlight reel.

A civic ceremony with a city around it
Intimacy came from the route, not an empty building.
San Francisco City Hall remained public and active, but a precise, compact plan gave the couple room to experience the ceremony without managing a large production. Architecture established the setting while the photographs stayed attentive to hands, glances, the people present, and the transition out of the building.
The downtown chapter matters because it shows what happened after the official words. A City Hall elopement becomes a fuller story through a walk, a meal, a neighborhood, or a few unhurried minutes together—not by trying to make every staircase and landmark into a separate portrait location.
